Aging‐related histone modification changes in brain function

Aging can be defined as a decline of physiological function that is more difficult to reverse, characterized by the loss integrity tissues, organs, and cells an organism over time. Normal aging associated with structural functional changes in brain, involving neuronal apoptosis, synaptic structure, neurotransmission, metabolism alterations, leading impairment sleep, cognitive functions, memory, learning, motor sensory systems. Histone modification significant aging-related epigenetic change influences mitochondrial immune stress responses brain. This review discusses histone modifications occur during brain aging, specifically methylation acetylation, gene transcription protein expression. We observed genes related are downregulated while response inflammatory functions upregulated.
